Our Mission
Springfield on the Move (SOM) is a non-profit organization
whose mission is to work with property owners, businesses, citizens
and town government to enhance Springfield's downtown as an attractive,
desirable and economically viable destination for residents and
visitors. Its members include local business owners, community
leaders, local government and residents who want to help revitalize
Springfield's downtown and the surrounding areas.

IS MOVING AHEAD

There are many things happening
in Springfield. Here is Just a short list of some of the things
that we have been working on.

- Working with theTown and
Regional Planning to complete the Riverwalk on North Main St.
Planning and constructing new sidewalks
Coordinating streetscape and landscape improvements with the
Tree Committee and Springfield Garden Club
Working to fill downtown business /professional
spaces
Continuing the downtown Banner program
Working with the Design Review Board on maintenance of downtown
properties
Participating in the Vermont Downtown Program and National Main
Street activities
Establishing an interested and active broad-based membership
Co-Sponsoring Christmas decoration for Springfield
Partnering with the Chamber to promote Springfield
As you can see a lot is
and will be happening, but it takes effort. Let's share our dreams,
our hopes, our ideas and our concerns to create new enthusiasm
for a better Springfield for all.
